UK49s Dream Numbers: The Fafi Dream Guide Chart
For generations, South Africans have turned their dreams into numbers using the Fafi dream guide. The system is called Fafi, or Mo-China, after the Chinese runners who first ran the game in Johannesburg more than a century ago. A standard chart gives every number a set of meanings: people, animals, objects and events. Dream of one of them, and the chart tells you its number.
Players use the chart before the national lotteries and before UK49s draws alike. This page publishes the traditional chart for numbers 1 to 49, the UK49s range, with the meanings most commonly printed in South African dream guides.
How to Use the Dream Chart
Look for the strongest image in the dream, the one that stays with you after waking. Most players use one main number, or a small set built from two or three clear images, rather than turning every detail into a number. The classic tip from Fafi players is to write the dream down straight away in a notebook by the bed, because details fade within minutes.
Charts differ slightly between books and websites. A snake is 32 in most guides, but you will find small differences elsewhere, for example a second meaning added or one dropped. That is normal for a tradition passed down in print for over a hundred years. This page follows the most widely published version.

Numbers 50, 51 and 52: In the Chart, but Not in UK49s
The full traditional chart runs to 52. Numbers 50, 51 and 52 stand for things like the bathroom, magic, cars and brushes in the old guides. They exist because Fafi is also played against games with more balls. UK49s uses 49 balls only, so 50, 51 and 52 can never be drawn in a UK49s game. Any dream guide that sells them to you as UK49s numbers without saying this is not being straight with you.

A Straight Word About Dream Numbers
The Fafi chart is a genuine piece of South African culture, older than any lottery played here today, and we publish it as exactly that: a tradition. What it is not is a way of knowing the future. A dream about a snake does not make 32 more likely to be drawn. Every number in every UK49s draw has the same chance, whatever anyone dreamed the night before.
Keep the tradition in its place and it stays what it has always been: a bit of meaning people find in their dreams. And never pay anyone who offers to interpret your dreams for winning numbers. That is a known scam pattern, covered on our UK49s scams page.
Lunchtime Result publishes UK49s results and information only. We do not sell entries, take bets or pay out prizes. Results are checked against the official 49s draw. Betting on these draws is restricted to over 18s. Read our responsible gambling guidance.
